One School

Forty-four years ago, in 1981, New Braunfels Christian Academy began with a handful of students, none older than six years old. They met in a rented house just a stone's throw from the Comal River. It didn't take long to realize that there was a deep hunger for Christian education alternatives in the city. Families were searching desperately for a school that would partner with them to provide an education grounded in a distinctly Biblical worldview.

As the demand grew, so did the need for space. With no room left in the rented house, construction began on a campus that could accommodate the increasing number of families seeking a school home for their children.

But even as the new campus expanded, it soon became clear that it, too, would not be enough. The leadership at NBCA continued to find creative solutions, including partnering with other nonprofits in the city to secure classroom space for the growing student body, which by then included junior high and high school students. 2006 saw the opening of the Secondary Campus on the west side of town off of FM 1863.

While the provision of additional space was celebrated, it came with the challenge of not being together on one campus. As a result, NBCA has spent the last 27 years with its students spread across multiple locations.

However, through the Lord’s faithful provision and the steadfast support of His people, NBCA now stands on the brink of a new chapter in its story—one that will see the reunification of the student body, from kindergarteners to seniors, all on a single campus.

Thanks to the generosity of several families, the resources are now in place to begin construction on a brand new academic building on the 1863 property. Once completed, this building will offer numerous benefits, including:

  • State-of-the-art classrooms for junior high and high school students

  • One central location for families to drop off and pick up their children

  • Elementary students having the opportunity to see and learn from the leadership of upperclassmen

  • The conversion of the elementary campus into an early childhood development center, addressing the needs of the city's growing population

Most importantly, this project will create more room for more Christian leaders to learn at NBCA.

Several classes in the upper grades are already at or near capacity, and elementary classes (with multiple sections of each grade) are on the horizon. The completion of the academic building will provide the space necessary to accommodate sustainable growth for years to come.

NBCA is targeting the fall of 2026 for the completion of this project, when the dream of a unified school community will become a reality. With your support, the vision of being ONE community on ONE campus as ONE school can be fully realized.

Will you consider partnering with New Braunfels Christian Academy through a contribution or pledge to the OneSchool campaign?
