ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The New Braunfels Christian Academy elementary program begins educating children starting in PreK-3 and going through the fifth grade.  At NBCA, we provide an exciting and developmentally age appropriate learning experience. Children develop Christian character, further their awareness of the world God created, experience the excitement of discovery, and realize continued success in their early academic lives.  Furthermore, we believe NBCA is a value-safe environment where Christian families can feel confident their children are well cared for and educated in a Biblically based learning community.

CURRICULUM & ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

The curriculum at NBCA varies by subject and grade level but is, most importantly, vertically aligned. Most of the publishers of materials are Christian based. The curriculum is made up of the core subjects of: Bible, Math, English, Science, and History. NBCA has an established evaluation cycle for: 1. Quality of curriculum, 2. Vertical alignment throughout the grade levels, and 3. Various considerations for maintaining, upgrading, and/or making other curriculum changes. NBCA offers the following specials classes throughout the week: PE, Music, Art, and Library. NBCA uses MAP testing for evaluating student growth beginning in Kindergarten and going through grade 8.

The NBCA Wildcat Academy was created in the 2021-2022 school year. The purpose is to enrich student experiences in the arts and athletics in an after school timeframe. The Lord has gifted each of us with special gifts and talents. In Ephesians 2:10 it tells us “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” The Lord already has the good works laid out for us to do, it is up to us to prepare for these works and be obedient when the time arises. Elementary students are at the prime age to explore new gifts, talents, and interests.

The Wildcat Academy is meant to further enrich the already successful music, art, and fitness programs in place on our campuses. The academy will allow students the opportunities to take their talents “to the next level” and grow to a deeper knowledge and skill level within their interests. We have the opportunity to not only grow participation in the arts and athletics, but to prepare them to excel at a higher level when heading to the secondary campus. Research has also proven that music reading and instrument playing helps improve overall academics and test scores. Athletics and fitness teaches us healthy lifestyles and inspires us to live out those lifestyles.

DRESS CODE

Elementary students wear the official New Braunfels Christian Academy uniform with several choices within the dress code. Uniforms are available for purchase through Tommy Hilfiger. Every Friday is considered a spirit dress day, which allows for students to wear jeans and a NBCA spirit shirt. Click here to view the Elementary Dress Code.
